Inspired by the landscapes, oceans, skies, and artistic traditions of Polynesia, our boutique offers pieces that reflect the unique character of Rapa Nui while honoring its place within the greater Polynesian Triangle. Whenever possible, we work with natural and responsibly sourced materials, including seashells sustainably collected for the limited number of handcrafted necklaces we create each year.

Hei Rangi is a Rapa Nui artist and the creator of Taua Here, a brand inspired by the natural beauty, culture, and spirit of the islands.Through Taua Here, she designs and creates distinctive handcrafted pieces that reflect her deep connection to the ocean, nature, and Polynesian heritage.
In addition to her artistic work, Hei Rangi is the founder of Matariki Yoga and has long been involved in community activities that promote well-being and a balanced lifestyle. Her creations combine creativity, craftsmanship, and a genuine appreciation for the environment, bringing a personal touch to every piece she makes.

Inspired by a lifelong fascination with culture, craftsmanship, and the stories that objects can tell, Alexandra founded Matariki Boutique to share distinctive creations from Rapa Nui, Polynesia, and beyond. With a background in cultural anthropology, she has spent decades exploring the cultures and artistic traditions of Oceania, Southeast Asia, and the Americas, drawing inspiration from the people and places she visits.

Her passion for handmade creations began in childhood, watching her mother design and craft metalwork jewelry by hand. Today, Alexandra creates pieces of her own while also curating a collectins of jewelry, clothing, handbags, and home décor that embody the character, creativity, and spirit of the places and people that inspire them.​
